High temp clutch grease
Replacing my clutch this week, the manual calls for Super High Temperature Grease to be used in a few places. Anyone know what is the centigrade temperature involved, or what the expensive Honda grease temperature rating is. I have some Lithium grease thats says use up to 120C, is this high enough?

no. lithium grease is not high enough also it is the wrong grease. i used to use high temp wheel bearing grease, like one from napa (the red one) worked for me just as well as the super high temp urea grease. on the splines on the input shaft of the transmission and where the throw out bearing slides on. this was before i knew about that honda had that super high temp urea grease. me being a honda fanatic and working at honda dealership. i wouldn't use any other grease for a clutch job, because this is what honda recommends. it will not melt and get all over the clutch disc.
this is one major issue, you need to make sure that if you do not use the super high temp urea grease, to at least make sure the grease you use can withstand the extremely high temps that the engine, transmission and clutch generate to make sure the grease will not melt at high temps and get all over the clutch disc.
