High pitched whistling sound when excellerating
2005 AP2: This problem started around 55k miles, the car is now at 75k miles. Whenever i Accelerate around 2-3k rpm it would give a high pitch whistle/ring and it goes away after 3k rpm. It rings regardless of gear; meaning, it rings in 2-3k rpm throughout the 6 gears. At first i thought that it was b/c of a hole in the intake arm, but i replaced it with an AEM intake. The problem still persists. Everything is stock.
The ringing is coming from the engine bay, i havent been able to pinpoint the exact location. I havent changed my rear differential oil and it is way over due, can it be b/c of that? Was wondering if anyone have had the same problem and if there's a remedy for it.
-thanks.

I read that this intake makes a whistle sound.
I've got an AEM intake too, and it makes the same sound around the same RPM range.
If you do a search you should be able able to find the documentation.

Almost all intakes will do that on the S at that rpm range. It's usually from the way the air passes through the butterfly valve, but its not uncommon and it doesn't cause any issues. I happen to enjoy hearing it...sounds good coming from my FIPK.
