High pitched whine while turning (>5mph and higher
I've got a high pitched whine coming from what sounds like the front left (from driver's perspective) while turning. I've noticed it in parking lots and while making turns ~25mph. I don't hear it with every turn and first noticed it this evening after a normal (semi-spirited) drive home
Any guesses as to what this is?
I've got a 2005 that I've had for about a month. It was checked over thoroughly by a mechanic before I purchased it.
Thanks in advance for any info

have a look at the motor mounts...this was a precursor to other issues....all solved by the mount replacement....
the noise I herd was also felt in the steering wheel, and only when I turned left at fairly low speeds (low ambiant noise levels)

wow, didn't proofread my last post...
anyway
the engine mounts, when they go, have metal parts that vibrate on the chassis, giving a high pitch wine (almost like a power steering pump when it's low)
there is a disc-shaped metal plate on top of the rubber part of the mount bolted to the frame, and the aluminum bracket bolted to the engine sits on it. the rubber part should be holding the bracket up a couple of inches. if the center rubber part looks sunken down, it is time to replace the mount.
I noticed something similar when i took corners at low speeds, when lateral forces put pressure on the bad mount starting the vibration.
as mine failed, the noise and the vibrations eventually started interrupting my cam sensors, putting the car in limp mode.
I know it sounds a little silly but it is worth a look
they are a relitavely easy fix for about $100
