its not your tires, i know what you are talking about, its kinda like a high pitched whine...... its from the tranny

Mine does that too, has done it pretty much forever. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Sounds like the tires to me... I don't know though... I had a vibration sound when vtec engaged for a while... sounded like a screw was lose or something didn't have a bushing... went away though... I would do what gernby said, and if you can't reproduce the noise, get it checked out... could it be the clutch?

ever since i switched to kuhmo tires, i can chirp third gear at will.

I've never even chirped tires going 1 to 2. Are you guys holding the gas on the floor while you shift? Have you upgraded the clutch disc/pressure plate? Are the tires hard/cold?

712's right? I've ran SO2's, SO3's, and currently Kumho MX's but never able to chirp 2nd to 3rd.

im runnin s02s with 60% in the rear. It has happened even when the tires were warm. It is a whine but very short it seems as soon as my foot is totally off the clutch it goes away. Keeping in mind that my foot isnt on there long since i am popping off.
