The whine when decelerating is perfectly normal. Every manual car I've driven has done it. I imagine its just the gears turning really fast and since you're not o the gas you can actually hear them.

i get a whistle when i punch it on the highway. then i remember because turbo

Another issue with my car crossed off the list thanks to this forum. My car whistles at about 3500 rpm when accelerating. My air box is missing a clip so I thought that might be it. But it's good to know its just one of the quirks of the car.
