High pitch whine at 3500RPM
Hello everyone! My 02 S2000 has developed a high pitch whine ONLY at 3300-3700RPM. Does not get louder with RPM or speed, but only appears between those RPMs and seems to be coming from the engine bay.
What could it be? I have not heard it before and it is starting to concern me because new sounds are never a good thing.

it does not sound like a bearing going out, and I dont think that it is mechanical due to the fact that it only happens at the one RPM "range" in nutral or in gear.
No mods recently but I am wondering if the K&N filter may have changed sound? I have always had a K&N (Drop in filter, Stock airbox) and never heard this sound before.
