High idle at cold start?
#2
yep. normal.
this feature is not only due to the fact that the car needs more fuel to stay running when cold, but due to our air quality standards, more airflow helps to ignite the catalytic converter sooner. (its like a little oven that burns off any unburnt fuel). so yeah, dont worry. im a picky person, about engine internals, and i wont drive my car till it has idled down below 1500 rpm. gives the parts time to warm up, and the controls to come *online*. later dave
