High Idle With aftermarket TB
Okay, so I acquired a OBX 72mm TB, I know I have heard some bad things about OBX, but I got it super cheap, so I figured I would give it a try. Besides it is an exact copy of a BDL TB.
So anyways I had a intake port matched to the TB. and it ran good, I set the TPS to the correct specs. the cars normal Idle was just a little under 1000 rpms, but that was at night in about 50 deg weather, so I drove it for about an hour in 80 deg weather, and I came to a stop and it was Idling at 3700 rpms. I couldn't figure it out. I went back to the shop checked the TPS and it was correct. .3v closed and 4.5v wide open. I have come to notice it occurs only after it gets hot.
Any Ideas anyone? the only one I am coming up with is the butter fly is expanding when it gets hot and is not making a good seal when closed.
