Personally I put the bulb socket base through the rubber boot first, then line it up and put the clip over the bulb last, it pops right in never had an issue.


Also sidenote, I've never had to remove a headlight or go through fender liner ever to change high beam bulbs. For low beam, yes- fender liner is a shortcut, but the high beams you can change right from above in the engine bay.

I did this a couple of summers ago and small hands are a real help. Good job for your grade school daughter! But it was otherwise straight forward. Open the hood and swap out the bulbs. Lots of sharp point there so be careful.

The whiter the light the less effective it is for the driver and more annoying for oncoming traffic.
