Default High Beam Bulb Replacement

There was a flurry of activity in this area a while back but a search provided no concise instructions on how to do it. I picked up a set of Super Whites from Skitzo as he sold his car......70 Watt. The blue bulbs look pretty cool and in my opinion are a lot brighter at night.

So here is a step by step:

1) Open hood
2) On the passenger side there is an opening leading to the headlight. The HID is the 50 cent piece light, the high beam is the one you can see the bulb (HID is mirrorered).
3) Pull the plug from the lamp ( 3 prong, only 2 are used).
4) Inside you willl find a rubber boot with 2 electrical (males) sticking out). If you use a flashlight on the passenger side you will learn a lot. At the top of the rubber boot is a pull tab labeled "Top". Pull on this tab. The boot will come clear. Another look of the flashlight and you will see a paper clip like wire. Make note of hope it is oriented. Simply unhook this....if you see it it will be obvious how this is done.
5) Extract the lamp. You will notice that the extracted part has the lamp (1 male connector) seated to a holder, 2 male connectors.
6) Remove and replace the stock bulb (single male spade) into the adapter (double male spade.
7) Reinstall in headlight well ( Note: There are 2 dots that line up the bulb....if they don't line up, invert the bulb and adapter and try again).
8) Swing the "paperclip" over the back of the bulb and snap it in place.
9) Run your fingers around the boot and make sure it is seated. If you remove this boot completely you will notice it has a female groove which fits back onto a groove in the car ("Top" to the top").
10. Adjust the boot so both spade males come through it...then reconnect the harness.
11. Your done...enjoy your new found brightness.

Note. The drivers side is the same although you need to remove the fluid reservior. Unscrew the cap. wrap in a towel and place on the front bumper. The reservoir is a slip fit....just pull it up and out. Same basic procedure applies.

Passenger side.....2 hours...no luck! Called Mark DiGrappa for suggestions. After input 5 minutes. Drivers side 5 minutes....even with reservoir removal/replacement. If you know how to do it it's QUICK!!! Diference is pretty big in my opinion. If yoiu wanna do yours swing by....cost one beer per lamp.

You can find that list of high beam in another thread. In addition, those sizes of bulb to fit into the high beam need to know. It might be good to know the sizes of bulb for the function of high beam and low beam.

Did this today and it was a PITA. I removed both wheels, peeled back the fender lining, reached my hand up and over the HID ballast and did it all by touch. I shoved my phone in there and am including some pictures I took that aided me in what I was feeling around for. The last picture shows the rubber boot not completely on. It was difficult to gauge this by touch. Make sure you are able to feel both metal prongs or the connector won't slip back on.

PLEASE PUT THIS IN THE DIY SECTION UNDER ELECTRICAL!!!!!! Thank you!!

I cannot for the life of me get the rubber boot back on any tips? I am also a bit upset because i ordered super-whites only to have them still be yellow, not a good day haha. This was heaps of help though! thanks
