i just recently got my ap1 about two weeks ago. and i noticed today driving home at night, that when im on a flat road with my low beams on only, that they dont shine more than the width of two lanes. is this normal? when im driving over a hill, they shine so far away. im just wondering if its supposed to only shine that far? it annoys me because i cant see very far ahead of me, so i always have my high beams on.

Your beams are probably angled down

They may be adjusted wrong but realize that hids aren't like halogens. The cutoff is there to prevent you from blinding other cars. If it is that short though, you may need adjustment.

Are the lights on an ap2 adjustable as well? I've heard not........
I also have a very limited forward visual range with my hids to the point where i get a bit nervous going faster on a hilly road cause i can't see.

its higher on the pass. side because you arent facing drivers on that side, so there is not a big chance of blinding an oncoming driver (if so youre drunk and on the wrong side of the road)...but really its lower in the drivers side because thats where other drivers are coming from obviously...

Tks Slows2k. I finally got my lights higher than the pavement 50 feet ahead of me.......... By the way, turning the adjuster clockwise raises the beam, and you have to use a #2 phillips screwdriver with an 8" shank.

So.....I have solved one problem thanks to this site, and it has lead to another.
After adjusting my lights, I parked in front of a wall tonight to have a look at the cutoff lines. I wanted to compare the overlap from left and right sides, so I blocked the light from the drivers side, and discovered that the passengers side is much dimmer than the drivers side, although it is still very bright.
I presume that both sides use the same light, so this doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Anyone have any ideas?
