Default HID Projection Issue

OK...

If you weren't aware I was recently in a fender bender. I recieved my car back yesterday from the body shop. They replaced my driver side headlight casing but not the ballast; they just used the old oneon the new headlight. Last night I drove it and noticed something terribly wrong... the diffusion of light from that side is horrid. There are three mail beams of light soming from it; one that is like a spot light and goes straight ahead but slightly tothe left, one that shoots left, and one that shoots right. Also, aside from the 3 beams of light, it is also flooding the road right infront of the headlight. What in the would did these duffus' do to it and how do I correct it? I have included a pic from my phone so that you can see.

Also. the HID beam on the driver side is bouncing with every little bump in the road I hit, unlike the pass side. The headlight itself is on and is not budging, I think it is the internals. What do I need to do?

This was taken standing directly in the center behind my car looking over the top:

THis was takin standing next the the driver door....

xvip??...

Looks like the bulb is not completed seated. There is a small notch which must be lined up for it to correctly fit. The bouncyness may also indicate a loose bulb.

I am going to agreee with Scott. The bulb will fit poorly if not installed right. It is keyed.

How do I need to go about fixing it? Is that also the cause for the sporadic diffusion of light?

You will have to pull the bumper off and remove the headlight. Rick's has instructions posted on our web site on how to do this. Also if you look at the Clear diffuser installation, it covers this part. The Clear diffusers shipping doc, covers the bulb removal and installation.

The bulb bouncing very well could do this. The light source is bouncing behind the lens so the output you see will change. Make sence?

You can use a set of pliers to remove this. It is a Security Torx bit. The one with a hole in the center. Any automotive stores has them, but I always use a set of pliers.
