Default HID light problem

i have a 2001 s2000 and i was on my way home tonight when my front left HID light went completely off. I pulled over and turned my lights off and back on and the front left came on fine. so i started driving again and about every 2-3 minutes my left beam would cut off then after i turned them off then back on it would cut right back on. i have no idea what the problem could be. Please help

Your bulb is most likely dying. The easiest way to troubleshoot this is to swap your driver's side bulb over to your passenger side to see if you get the same results. If so, you need to purchase two new HID bulbs since it's best to replace them in pairs to keep output and color the same. Do NOT buy replacement bulbs from the dealer, they will overcharge you. You can get replacements from theretrofitsource.com or Ebay.

If you swap bulbs but your driver's side is still giving you issues then it might be a ballast issue. While ballast problems do come up, most of the time it's just your bulbs going dead so make sure to rule that out first before wasting money on new ballasts.
