Hi I'm russ I'm new to this site I have picked up a s2000 Thursday and I have a odd tapping/marble noise it's sound like it coming from the front of the engine I had one nut lose on the cat heat guard does it on cold and some time If I leave the car off for 5mins after running it only done 58k please help me thank you

It could possibly be the timing chain tensioner. Seems to be a common problem for the s2k. I would post a video or sound clip of the noise for a better diagnostics.

Does the knocking/tapping noise increase at a faster rate as you increase the rpms? Contact the user billman, he's a s2000 specialist.

Sounds like a TCT to me. I recently had Billman swap mine out for precautionary measures. Hopefully Billman can chime in and tell you for sure.
