Clean that filter first... check the plugs, check the MAP sensor, reset the ECU.

I'm going to do all of these. Gotta find a filter in town that will work with the
intake. It's not the exhaust, that's for sure. The car ran a 13.61 1/4 mile last fall
before I moved down here (same exhaust, different intake). There is a huge difference in how it's running now
and then. I'm leaning towards a faulty MAP or 02 sensor. The dyno tech was
surprised it made even that much HP with the air/fuel so screwed up.

I'll let folks know as soon as I do. It'll be nice to have my car back up and running properly.

Well, returned from the dealer. No engine codes...everything was fine. They
saw no problems with anything electronic but they didn't check the plugs so I'll probably do that this weekend just to see how they look. With a dyno chart
staring me in the face, I don't need someone to prove to me I'm running way too
rich, I KNOW I am. As for the dyno run, the A/F sensors didn't change location.
They were in the pipes like the other S2000's we dyno'd that day. The strange thing is
out on the open road, at 85 mph, it seems to run strong and I'm not getting any erratic idle problems at lights, nothing...just sort of sluggish in and around traffic but once I'm
on the highways, it flies. Strange. I didn't reset the ECU following the Comptech
intake install and the ducting is leading directly into the intake. Not sure if resetting
the ECU was necessary but I guess it won't hurt at this point. As for tapping the MAP for good measure, does it need to be removed before putting the heavy side of
my screwdriver gently to it? At this point, it sure looks as though I'm headed down the Greddy e manage path. This car is screaming for tuner time because it's apparent I'm all over the place....I'm just curious, getting 186hp with the A/F ratios this horrible, how the hp will look when I get those ratios back to normal where they belong.

the MAP sensor can stay on while you tap it.

good luck Russ!

[sarcasm]Have you considered S2kturbofire's Unichip? Good for 30rwhp apparently! [/sarcasm]

Russ,

I think you need to move back to Vermont. With the weather they're having you should be able to pick up at least 15 hp. (90 degree temp drop).

this happened to my beater w/ K&N before and you won't see me putting it on my S2K for sure
