All I know is the same tuner did my car before Bullet1123's and left my VTEC
engagement point alone since adjusting it failed to produce any benefits that I and more
importantly, the car, could see. I don't have any such hesitation problems that Joe
is experiencing. My install was the FIRST E Manage tune SFP has done (at least
with the S2000) so perhaps there are issues with regards to what it actually CAN and
CAN'T do that Frank will want to discover. He called Greddy during the install process to verify some wiring issues and as expected, they were about as helpful as a hooker in church. Mitch's wiring was SPOT-ON so I know THAT isn't the culprit.

Problem solved....first I swapped out the spark plugs, I installed Denso IK22s. This deffinetely helped the car felt a little better. Then I went back to my tunner. We drove around with the laptop and did a little street tunning...It turned out to be a timming problem. he added some timming just befor VTEC to smooth out the vtec transition, and for some reason the car didnt like that very much. as soon as he removed it the car stop hesitating. now the car feels like I gained alot of power. The power feels consistent and smooth threwout the rpms....We are going to put it back on the Dyno tuesday and do a little more fine tunning(I will post the final results). I am also removing the testpipe and replacing it with a magnaflow resonator (hopefully this will help me keep the hp gains of the testpipe and get rid of the ricey sound effects.....

Thanx everyone for your help and input...for now anyway things seem ok. lets see what tuesday brings!!!!!!!

that means that you had advanced the timing too much in the map... the knock sensor probably was triggered and it retarded timing ..... this is bad.... good you fixed it.....

To much advance can definitly give you some problems, Glad you had it fixed quickly.

I have Several GSC maps, for turbo and SC'd cars. I haven't found any consistency in the RPM settings through the 16 columns.
Some use the Greddy provided 500-8000, others break in down from 500-9000, I have another that is at 700-9100. For those with big injectors, have you found it neccesary to use closer low RPM settings for more resolution?

My settings are 1000-9100, with 500 revs seperating each column. I'm leaning towards switching to 700-9100rpm

Like this:
700 1500 2100 2700 3300 3900 4500 5100 5700 5900 6100 6700 7300 7900 8500 9100.

Any comments from other E-manage users?

It was actually only 1 degree of timing that was messing thing up. Interesting how just one degree to "help" the VTEC crossover would screw things up so bad.

Be very careful people, not to start talking crap about any shop....but ive had a few people come to me w/ their car that a certain shop you all are familar w/ tuned and it was horrible (mostly boosted cars). here is a screen shot from a b16 bored to 84mm.... pump gas mind you. (stock ignition NA is suppose to be around 31-32 degrees) you should approx take out .75 degrees per psi in boost....

as you can see, this car was detonating all over the place and i cant figure out how it didnt blow up. its running about 9 degrees too much even at 12 psi.....

be very careful about who you trust, and watch over their shoulder to make sure they know exactly what they are doing....
