Not sure what an HG is so i do not know if that relates to this. Anyway, If your brake light is on that would normally lead to low fluid in the master cylinder. If the fluid is low that means you have a brake leak or your caliper pistons are extended out and taking more fluid. The reason the extend out further is to compensate for pad wear.

a HG= head gasket. I had to replace my 3mm cometic wit han inlinepro one and thought it may have just been a wire not hooked up or a vaccum issue.
I have checked the frame rail a trillion times. I have checked inside the hot and cold side housing. I have had the turbo off the car on 4 seperate occasions and there are 0 rubs anywhere. Besides that the frame rail is notched out.
Wheels are stock but I haven't changed the front tires in 35,xxx miles as they are fairly high on the tractions numbe scale. I "hope" to get to the bottom of this on Sunday. Once I do I will report back and let everyone know what it is/was.

Is your "Brake" light or "ABS" light is on?
My first thought would be to check and make sure that both the ABS pulser (sprocket looking thing) and the sensor on that wheel are intact and not loose. I have seen a pulser come loose on a Ford/Mercury. It caused an intermittent ABS light in that instance (pretty sure it would Hard code on a Honda). It made a grinding noise that almost sounded as if a chain was being dragged under the car at one wheel only. Also the noise would stop when cornering in one direction, can't remember which.

Just a thought since it seems like you are going to have to poke around a little anyway. Good Luck.

^ Thanks. Its the "brake" light, the red one all the way to the left on an AP1 that is on not the yellow"abs" light. I will take a look at that wheel and caliper along with the pads when I get a chance.

The very first thing to check is that you have sufficient fluid in the brake master cylinder. If you don't, top it off NOW.

That won't cause any of the noises you're describing, but if you run out/low on brake fluid you won't have brakes. That will make the any amount of rubbing seem pretty insignificant.

i think also you should check your brake pads.. because if your pads are in need of replacement then that means your caliper is full of fluid in order to hold the piston out..once you compress that piston back into the caliper then your brake fluid resevoir should be full, or close to.
