I was driving around today when all the sudden I heard a loud grinding noise and the foul odar of burning rubber. I quickly pulled over and popped my hood and caught a nice cloud of smoke in my face, turns out the bearing in my idler pulley failed and caused the pulley to shift towards the chain case, stopped it completely and my belt grinded against it until it snapped leaving me stranded 50 miles from home. Thank god for AAA!

pics to follow.

Do you burn yourself when you play with matches?

Anyway, I had this problem a few years back. The damage wasn't that extensive though. It was just really loud.

Crap my belt tensioner started to become noisy as well, guess I better replace it before that happens to me.

At least the damage isnt too bad, good luck with it!
