The button part that you push for the top latch fell off?
Anyhow, I cant get the latch to come off to try to fix. Is there a way to release the latch (safety mechanism)? Mind you the button part is now gone. Anyone? Thanks in advance.

Try taking a flathead and prising the mechanism downword. The button slides against a lever that pushes the lock mechanism down. You can actually get away with just replacing the button if you can find one. If you can't find a button the part runs from 103 - 125 depending on the dealer. Those are the prices I was quoted. It took 3-5 business days to get another latch to the dealer in GA. The only dealer that had one in stock was in California. Hope that helps.

This may sound a bit obvious, but if it fell off, it probably fell by your feet. I searched for ages and couldn't find mine. I took the seat out and there it was, wedged against the seat rail.
You never know.

I found the button, it had fallen off and was behind the seat. Also used a flathead to release the mechanism. Now I cant find the stupid mini screws that must have fallen off. Hopefully home depot has them. Thanks!!!!!
