Default Help - Shake during hard launch? Can it be the differential?

Whats up guys. I need your help about something.

I rarely launch my car from a dead stop, but sometimes if I'm in the mood to play, I'll do it. But even so, I'm rarely in the mood to launch my car. Well anyways, the other day I decided to launch hard just for the heck of it since it was late at night and I was stopped at a traffic light with no other cars around. And as how a launch should be done, I kept the revs to about 6.5k, then dropped the clutch and gunned the throttle when the light turned green. Well, last time I remember doing a launch it was smooth - just some wheel spin then I was off to redline. But this time, my car started shaking violently the whole time during the wheel spin! It was quite horrible, and my shifter was also shaking like crazy. I immediately let off the throttle to stop the wheels from spinning. After the wheel spin everything seemed fine, the engine revved to redline smoothly just like before. My car drove normal after that, but it seems that something is wrong when launching it! Now this problem is bugging me since I've never had any real problems with my car before. I'm guessing it's the differential, but I'm hoping it's not damage and that I'm wrong! My milage is almost 30,000 miles, and I'm hoping to have the differential fluid changed soon to determine if that can fix the problem. What can you guys suggest or advise? I'm hoping my dealer didn't have to do with anything because I had the deceleration buzzing noise TSB done a while back in January. Any help is greatly appreciated you guys. Thanks!

It could just be wheel hop....try launching on different roads. Wheel hop will shake the $hyt out of your car....

Don't forget the Spoon master cylinder doilees.

You don't need to spend wads on Spoon junk. It's just wheel hop as mentioned above.

That said, don't drop the clutch. It's very little gratification for a lot of potential damage.

Ahh heck, do what you like.

I have tried launching on wet and dry roads, and the result is still the same.

Double check your tire pressures, balance and alignment. A combination the these things and road surface can cause wheel hop.

I agree with the others, it sounds like normal wheel hop, especially since the car accelerates smoothly from a roll. It was likely that one or the other wheel was gripping and losing traction rapidly, causing the vibration. When I launch hard at the start of autocross runs, this is not an unusual occurance.

Thanks guys, I never knew what wheel hop was until you people chimed in. My alignment has been off for a while so I'll have that checked shortly. The tire pressure seems low also so I'll have it done soon.
