Default Help! s2000 convertible top problem

Hi

I recently had my 2000 Honda s2000 convertible top replaced retrofit from a top with plastic to top with glass, however, my top won't go completely down.. the front part of the top sticks up and blocks my rearview as opposed to folding completely down. Help! Any suggestions on what to do????

Thank you!

Did you do the strap update as well? it will connect the last bar with the middle one.

What does this mean? I am not the one who did this manually myself but had someone who has some experience fixing cars do it for me.. I am trying to find information so I can pass it on to him....

When you upgrade from a plastic to a glass window, you need to add the additional strap that it should come with. Where did you buy your new top from? did you just buy an OEM 04+ one and slap it on or did you buy one from hardtopguy or onlinetops.com?

The straps that connect the 2nd to the third bar are most likely stretched and your top is not folding correctly. I would suggest getting new straps from www.modifry.com, but until then when putting your top down push the second bar back as the top is retracting in order to allow for the top to fold correctly. I assume that this was not the robbins replacement top, but rather the EZ On Brand. The Robbins has a better strap kit that attaches the 3rd and 4th bow, but the EZ On only has the strap that connects the 4th bow to the second stud on the rain rail. I hope this all makes sense and solves your problem. If not let me know, i've replaced a few of these tops already and have some experience.
