help with rolling front fenders!
I'm not sure if this would be an appropriate question for "motorheads", but there are no other places on the board where so many mechanics and mechanic wannabe's ( ) hang around...
my car is lowered on tein flex coilovers so raising up the car is possible, but not favorable. I like to keep it low (no finger gap) with my new 17"s, but it rubs over almost any road bumps, not the speed bumps in the mall...so unless i'm not on solid flat roads like track roads, it'll make some sort of rubbing noises...
I was told by a knowledgeable S2000 fanatic that the front fenders cannot be rolled. I WILL roll the rear fenders and I WILL roll the front fenders if it's possible.
IF you have seen it done, or heard it done, or had it done...you're input is appreciated...the front size is 17x8 49+ with no finger gap drop, well...maybe half of a finger...Thanks, Danny

don't know if rolling the fronts is possible, but I did see this which would make it easier than the baseball bat technique.

Ive had my back and front rolled a bit. I rented that rolling tool, its great. The back can be pinched flat, but use a heat gun to keep paint from cracking. Also take your time, I got some wavey spots along the edge if you look from the side of the car. The front cant be rolled a lot and not with the tool. I did it with hand tools. The main thing that rubs in the front are the clip holders on the fenders. I took the clips out and placed the fender well lining above the clip brackets and bent them up.
If the offsetes are real bad, your still gong to rub. Also recommend tightening the suspesion up and more camber. With all Ive done, my rears still rub on large bumps at high speeds. Its just the passeneger side for some reason.

thanks for the info. good to hear that you can roll the fronts...the two clips you mentioned are the ones causing the rubbing...mostly.
so you're saying you unplugged 2 clips, and put the fender above the hole and plugged the 2 clips in? to raise the outer fender by a little bit? does it look any different from outside when the wheels are on?

In my case yes, Im not sure how much your wheels stick out. I did not put the clips back on since I bent the holders up. The lining is just sitting on top of the clip holders. You cant tell I did anything from the outside.

No it wont come out, Ive autoX'd and tracked before like this. The lining has a hole in it from the clip, just kind of hook the clip holder through it one its bent up. You might want to loosen the screws tha hold the lining around the edges of the fender well. It will be easier and you can readjust the lining better.
