Help... Real quickie
I'm installing Ricks Center Console Cover and either I'm an idiot or my shift knob is stuck. It feels like if I twist anymore I'm going to break the rod.
I loosened the 14mm nut under the shift knob (the nut is now lower with a small space between the top of the nut and the bottom of the knob).
And now I'm trying to twist the knob off. What am I doing wrong???

If the locknut is loose, the shift knob is a regular "rightie-tightie / lefty-loosie" thread. If it's an all metal knob, you can try heating it with a blowdrier, which will expand the metal and loosen up any glue that someone may have put in the threads.

I had the same problem.
To get it off I needed to heat it with a mini blow torch. i.e. a butane soldering iron with a blow torch tip until it was extremely hot.
The reason for mine being so tight was that it had a bit of corrosion on the thread.

You failed to mention if you are original owner or you bought it as a preowned car. If preowned the previous owner may have "locktighted" it on (as well as his antenna). If you bought it new, and are sure there is no thread locker, try two small pipe wrenches wrapped with tape to prevent scratching. The knob should come off counterclockwise!
