Smile Help! Problems with R200 diff kit install!

I finally have everything I need to install my inlinePRO R200 diff kit, and like almost everything else I've done to the car there are issues. I am trying to get the rear differential mounting bolts into the rear differential mounting assembly, and the diff cover is hitting a portion of the rear subframe. I have the Greddy R200 diff cover, which is larger than the OEM diff cover. I know of at least one other board member who has this setup on his car, so I know that it will work somehow. Also, one portion of the diff is hitting the EVAP canister, and I am not sure what to do about that.

Here are some pics showing the problems:

I could possibly remove some material from the bottom of the subframe and I believe that would allow me to insert the mounting bolts all the way, but I am not sure if that would alleviate any other issues.

Any recommendations?

Thanks for those pics Nathan! Looks like I need to get out my dremel and go to town. Did you have any issues with the EVAP canister?

It sounds to me like the aftermarket diff cover will not work with that install kit, the kit uses the monting stus in the cover. Maybe the cover studs are in a slightly different spot ( aftermarket you never know.....), Ive seen that cover and it's alot larger in the lower portion which increases the fluid capacity. I dont think cutting into the subframe would be a good idea, if you do you will have to acount for the movement of the diff under load (twist). The only way i've seen that installed is with the standard cover.....

I hope you get it all worked out

The covers works...you simply need to trim some material from the subframe. If you look at what Nathan did above, only a small amount is removed and I highly doubt the structural integrity of the subframe is compromised.

I'm not to big on cutting structural components I would sacrifice the pretty cover for piece of mind.....

Full-Race works on a lot of Nissans and have several of the R200 diffs just sitting around. When I got it it was pretty dirty so I cleaned it up and spray painted it. Doesn't look as good as Nathan's, but it looks better than when I received it.
