Default help please!

ok im removing the stock exhaust everything is going good until im removing the cat bolts. got one with some work. did everythig i was supposed to do , ALL THE RITE STEPS. the two bolts that are left i could swear they are tac welded on the stud because dame .. they wont budge.. so they are basically stripped now and i have tried everything to remedy. is there anything i could try to get these bolts off. remember they are stripped.. i know .. its bad . please help

Which side of the cat are you talking about?

If you are talking about the side of the cat that connects to the midpipe of the exhaust then those are studs, only the nuts are supposed to come off.

if you stripped them you have to get them cut/sawwed/blasted off lol.

i know the studs are fixed in place,, im talkin about the nuts. yes i was thinkin ill have to saw them out, nock out the studs , and get new bolts but i ithought there might be a tool thats good for stripped bolts.. i dunno

.. u forgot to wait til it cools down.
those new bolts costs like $20 a piece.(last time i check.. 8 years ago)

Yeah, the studs are close to $20... Looks like your in for a fun exhaust install

"turbo" sockets. sears sells them.
if you have a torch, heat the nut up til red then go at it with the turbo sockets.
give the nuts a good wack with a hammet too to knock some rust loose.

I think he is trying to tell you to heat up the nut so it expands...good luck..

Thax for the advice, the car was sitting for about a day before i started so it was definatley cool . i think i just had a sh%tty socket . i will go to sears and get a turbo socket. all advice is welcome .. thanx again
