Default Help needed install 41G CAI!

Hi, if you can help PLEASE do my car is in pieces

Need some help witha 41G CAI

1) I think I'm missing some parts The small tube that comes out on the top left (when facing the car, I think it was red ) I need that! On my car the tubes are metal that's how it is stock, so it does not reach the connection point on the CAI.
I'll see if I can find a tube at an autoparts store tomorrow, I hope so!

2) Bolts for the CAI the rubber bushings? I am not sure where the heck I'm suppose to bolt these things down to.

3). Do you have to cut some plastic underneight to get the pipeing in? I can't see to get it in, there is NO space down there at all! If I get the vacuum line tomorrow I'll put my passenger front wheel off and some of the fender liner hopefully that will help me see what's going on.

4) Piping order.... I have 3 pipes. It looks like small short pipe with intake hose places, then medium pipe then long pipe. That's the only way it seems to fit together. Bypass valve goes between short and medium pipe?

Thanks!

Here's a pic of what I have.....

You'll need to cut your passenger fender liner in order to fit the long pipe through.

The order should be: medium pipe to throttle body, long pipe to medium pipe, the short pipe should be attached to the long pipe and it should be in front of the passenger fender area along with the big filter.

I don't realy know what that other filter is for since mine didn't come with it. You see the rubber grommet? You have to attach that (and the long pipe) to the front frame. If you place the long pipe right, it should line up.

Assuming that's all the parts you got, then you are missing some hoses. Careful how you route the vacuum line, remember how it is routed stock, make sure you attach it the same way it was stock.

When you say cut the fender well, do you mean the part protecting debris from the wheel?

Thanks!

I wish I had a picture to show you. But when you put in the long pipe, the bend towards the passenger wheel will need to come out into the little area near the front of the car. In order for this to happen, you'll need to cut that hard plastic that lines the wheel well (again towards the front).

Lookie here: http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=209383 the second picture, shows you that hard piece of plastic over the wheel that you need to cut. (around where the long pipe would come out of)

Ok thanks. It seems like I'm missing at least 4 hoses. I thought I could make do with 1, but when I remove the metal vacuum cable to the trottle body I'll be removing 4 hoses!

I'll contact the seller to let him know. Right now the CAI is useless to me, I put my car back together. I didn't want to cut I was told I didn't have to

Back to the drawing board I guess.
