Help! need valve job? pic inside.
Hi Guys,
I recently bought a used AP2 motor and I decided to do a cold compression test and a leak down.
At first the compression on all cylinders were kinda low, around 120-140. After a couple more tries cylinder 1,3, and 4 jumped up to 230-240. But cylinder 2 stayed at 120 or so.
So, we decided to do a leak down test and #2 had a lot of air coming through the exhaust. I pulled the header off and see this
Oil is seeping through the exhaust valve on #2. Now, is it possible that this is only happening because the engine hasn't been running for a while and is cold?
Or do I have a burnt/bent valve? Judging by the color of the valve it looks like oil has been burning on it
Please advise,
I will probably take off the head and send it to the engine shop to see whats wrong.

If its a high mileage engine the guides will be badly worn. The stem seals are normally pretty good at holding the oil back. Once oil starts dropping onto the valve the burnt oil deposits on the valve margin can flake away causing poor leakdown values.
I would check the valve clearances.
It really needs the head pulled and valve job ( and most likely guides). if you are on a budget try a top end cleaner and a thrash tune to see if the leakdown improves once carbon is burnt off the valve.
