Help with my oil change
I feel like a jackass but I lifted my car and couldnt get the drain bolt off for shit. I used a ratchet wrench. Didnt work. I used wd40 and tried to get it to come off after 15 min. No luck.
I ordered a Mityvac and let the car warm up and I started extracting the oil but it wont hold vacuum. I got about 2 quarts out and when I pump it just hisses out of the valve cover. Thats wierd cause I heard the mightyvac works good with the S2000.
i guess my question is:
1. How can I get the drain bolt off
2. Why isnt my Mityvac holding vacuum. im useing the smallest tube, connected to a bigger tube, connected to the fill hole.
Someone please help. Its only a freakin oil change and its a nightmare.

Is the plug stripped?
Have you tried using a 6-sized 17mm socket and long-handled wrench or breaker bar?
How high did you get the car? It's really hard to get good leverage unless you've got a lot of clearance under there.
It shouldn't take that much leverage unless there isn't a washer or the drain plug otherwise became fused to the pan (which seems unlikely, but who knows).

grow some muscle! LOL
i keed. yes, breaker bars help.
sometimes gorilla oil change goons overtighten those things. I once saw a goober use an air gun to tighten one up. Almost smacked the hell out of the guy for doing that.

i also ordered a mityvac and it took a little fumbling around to get it to work properly. i was afraid the tube wasn't long enough but it appears to be just about the right length. after about 5 quarts come out, it's tough to get the last few drops but if you pull out and push in, you can get most of the rest of the oil.
