HELP my CAT BROKE
#31
My test pipe provided nice gains above about 4K RPMs, and I had no losses anywhere. I was also able to lower my VTEC engagement another 200 RPMs (to 5400). My header and exhaust are stock. I think that the people that have shown losses from a test pipe needed to do some tuning.

Hehe. Surely the people with Toda Racing headers would be excited to know that somebody got significant gains on a dyno with a straight pipe.

So, you guys that are just running off post you have seen on the internet....try it for your self before you give your opinion or should I say, regurgitating other peoples opinion.

The stock cat on the S out perform most of the high flow cats out in the market today. Some of them by far.
Like stated before, you wont gain much at all by removing the cat. The dyno charts showing gains could have had the gains from other conditions.
I agree with slow 100% when he said some of you just think it's faster because it's louder. The stock unit works incredibly well and Wael has the info to back it up. I'd rather have my cat on if I could just to avoid the tickets, caustic smell, noise of not having it on.

I just bolted the 2 bolts and everything seems normal. The only problem is I smell something burning from my headers. Is it cause I had it in the garage and there was crap in the headers? or is it the senor's wires burning? I dont know. I have to take a look at it tomorrow. Can you guys think of any other reason for this burning smell? I havent had the stock headers for on for awhile. Thanks for you help.
