Fuel pump/fuel starvation was my first thought as well.

Lots of possible electrical issues can result in sputtering and cutting out. Probably more possible electrical issues that can cause it than mechanical.

Default Problem appears solved!

Seems as though the kids that owned the car for some reason installed an aftermarket fuel pump. The dealership inspected the wiring from end to end, installed a factory pump, and it has yet to die on me. Hooray!
btw, they installed a full blown 340-2 pump. Looks like this was for a turbo installation that never occurred.
can't really explain it 100%, but seems to be solved.

looking to get the car more stock anyways.

Great! Hope that was all it was! It certainly sounded like a fuel pump going bad, but odd that it had a newer pump and that was the issue. I dont really know a lot about the quality of those aftermarket pumps though. But, if it is fixed, that is good and you can just enjoy your s2k now
