Default help with motor swap and wiring issues

alright, so the guy that bought my wrecked shell swapped his motor in and is having some issues getting it started. I believe its due to the wiring. He says everything powers up but the car wont turn over

The main harness behind the dash that the fuse box is attatched to is the original from an 01 s2000. The cluster/ecu/dash harness is from an 03? Could this cause an issues? I remember someone saying the harness' need to be from the same year

Not sure that the harness would be a problem...01 & 03 is pretty similar.

I would have him check the ground at the back of the head. It is the thing most commonly forgotten.

Also...just confirming...the motor won't turn over at all? Or it turns but doesn't crank. If it really won't turn over at all, I would start with the starter.

Yeah, that is a problem. The 01 rear dash harness (Dash harness A, fuse box harness) and the fron t dash harness (Dash harness B, cluster harness) must from the 00-01 or 02-03. They can not be mixed. Honda changed the connector for the fuel pump from a 2 wire (00-01) to a 4 wire (02-03)

No fuel, no fire. I had the same problem and figured it out the hard way. That is how I know. I had to trouble shoot the electircal system with the ETM to figure it out.

I also have a spare Dash harness A if he wants to buy it.

Good to know!

Thanks Strat...
