Default HELp major tranny trouble!

Ok guys this is what happen. I was driving as my friend was following me. I guess when he heard me gun it he tried to also. He specifically put it in 5th and when he put gas to it the car just rev up and almost red line. then he took it out of gear and put it back in and it work normally. This was when we got off the highway and stop at the light. I could smell his clutch really bad as of right then. Light turn green and we took off and he said he put it in first and engage the clutch and it was acting weird as if it was not wanting to go then as he put it in 2nd it worked fine. We got to my friends house and parked there waiting for a friend. As we left it worked fine till half a mile later it just completely went out. In every gear it would just rev all the way up and inch away. He said the fastest he could get it too was 24 mph. So i tried it and it would not go anywhere. At this point I figured it has to be the clutch because i can put it in 1st and just pull the e-brake or just step on the brake and it would not die. He just got the car 2 days ago and it was from a different state so we couldnt actually test drive it. But during those 2 days till now it was working fine till earlyer tonight. Is it just the clutch or is my friend looking at some major damage that will cost a lot?

A clutch R&R is a major job on an S2k. That's why I dun't do burnouts, or launch from a standstill.

Clutch disk, pressure plate, throw out bearing (that's why they call em throw out bearing's ) And mebbie pilot bearing

The clutch fork and shaft that the bearing rides on should be cleaned and greased.

The job itselft is a PITA.

That's a sign of a worn clutch.
