Please explain what happens when you try to open the trunk with the key. Does the key turn, but the trunk doesn't open? Does the key not turn at all? Have you tried having a helper push down on the trunk lid while you tried to use the key. Did the key work successfully in the past? Answers to questions like these will provide clues allowing us to help you solve your problem more efficiently.

Got to jump on the bandwagon with CoralDoc here.

Rather than just telling us 'it won't work', please try to describe for us in as complete a manner as possible what happens when you try each of the following methods of opening the trunk. The less detail you provide, the less help we can provide since we can't look over your shoulder and see what's really going on with your car.

Maybe these questions'll get you started with giving us details that might point at a solution:
  • Pressing the trunk button on the remote...
    • Do you even have a remote? (every little detail helps)
    • Do you have fresh batteries in it?
    • Can it lock and unlock your doors?
    • When you press and hold the trunk button, do you hear any noises from the trunk area that might indicate that it's trying to unlock?
  • Pressing the trunk button inside the glove compartment...
    • Does the button even move when you press it?
    • When you press and hold the trunk button, do you hear any noises from the trunk area that might indicate that it's trying to unlock?
  • Using the key in the trunk keyhole to unlock the trunk...
    • Is the keyhole present (not shaved or covered)? (sometimes even the dumb questions need to be asked)
    • Will the key go in to the hole?
    • Will the key turn?
    • When you try to turn the key, do you hear any noises from the trunk area that might indicate that it's trying to unlock?

If the lock mechanism is jammed, it MAY be possible to get it to actuate by having a helper firmly press (or sit) on the trunk lid while you manipulate the key. It is important not to break the key off in the lock, so be firm but not overly strong. Squirting some lubricant into the cylinder may help too - I use graphite, but WD-40 will work in a pinch.

This is assuming that the key worked in the lock before this problem developed.

Shouldn't this be in the Under the trunk section?
