I had the FIPK for about 1 year and I always test to see how hot or cold my intake gets. I drove the car for a good 30 mins then opened my hood and touched my intake still feeling cold while the plastics tube is slightly warm. When I drive for 1-2hrs the plastic is warm and the intake isn't warm or hot at all.

I felt a gain of at least 3-4hp in my car with Fipk and I don't think AEM v2 makes any difference in hp gain at all to but AEM v2 setup is to avoid puddles and rains makes it less convenient with the cutting or adding the umbrella.

People say FIPK gets huge heatsoak and it's not true. I never get heak soak cause I don't drive during busy hrs on freeway so no traffic for me at all, it rains here and there but I would want to drive my car in the rain when I need to so I got the FIPK instead of the AEM v2.

The AEM v2 tube made of metal with heat resistant paint and I don't think the paint keeps the engine bay cool at all. When you wash your car you have to plug up some holes where all the water drips down the front bumper or else ur AEM v2 filter gets wet.

Get the AEM v2 if you don't care about these hassles of avoiding puddes, cutting, getting car wet from wash or rain for a gain of 3-4hp. Or get the Fipk where you barely get heatsoak and can drive anywhere rain or shine for the same gain of 3-4hp.

I only suggest you getting either intakes for sound and not for performance. The best setup is the jdm password intake, mugen intake or the stock intake with the duct for full performance

Butt dyno's aren't very accurate. You're not going to feel 3hp, unless it's a Geo Metro or something.
