I've been a V2 owner for over a year now. The one I have came with a hole and duckbill valve on the bottom to drain out any water that may make its way into the intake tract. Also, I purchased a AEM filter cover. I've driven through heavy rain w/o issue. I dont think there is real danger unless you go through a deep puddle of water at speed. Just be careful.
Also, DONT leave your car parked uncovered when its raining.
The AEM V2 is probably the best cold air intake for the S2000. Dyno proven. I love mine. People love to exaggerate the hydro-lock issue.

lol yah i know just saying if the OP does go with AEM to be careful. I also live in Houston which is one of the worst cities for flash floods and standing water.
