Default Help! Humming sound from rt front wheel well area

Hi All,

I just put a set of new coilovers on my 04 AP2.

I also recently started to use a pair of OEM AP2 V2 17x9 rear wheels on the front. The wheels were bored to fit the hubs.

I now noticed a humming sound from the front end.

The sound is kind of like the sound you get when you hit a tunning fork and hold it up to your ear.

I hear it when I have the car parked and Idling.

The sound is loudest when I put my head next to the front right wheel area. There seens to be nothing loose that I can see or feel in the wheel well.

Can anyone help me out with this?

Anyone running wheels like this or have any idea what this could be?

Thanks For Your Help

Mark

The motor makes a humming sound like you said naturally.

Do you have an aftermarket intake? Is your air box on?
If your airbox lid is off or if you install an intake you will hear this.

Open your hood and listen by the intake

Check the airbox.

Thanks guys, you are right.

I have an AEM cold air intake. I took the left front tire off and the sound was comming from the front of the wheel well where the air intake is.

I disconnected the intake at the connector to the 3 ft tube going down and behind the bumper just to confirm. This stopped the sound which could then be heard from the shorter intake tube comming from the throttle body.

What causes this?

Air turbulence?

I was a bit paranoid after installing the coilovers and not noticing this before. It's a relief.

Thanks again for your input and help.
