HELP! High Pitch Whining noise @ Fwy Speeds
I have a super clean '02 Ap1 that is completely stock (89k)
No leaks, rattles of any kind.
But recently i have notice a High Pitch Noise (like dog whistle) when vehicle is mostly in 5th/6th gear going 50mph+. The more you gas it, the louder it gets. Will only hear it when car is in gear. I have tried revving up to 4-5k in neutral when rolling around 65mph and it does not do it. I cannot really pin point what location its coming from inside the car.
Has anyone experience anything like this of sort?
Thanks guys!

When is the last time you changed your trans or differential oil? What type of clutch is in the car?

Sounds like classic diff or trans whine. Typically only makes noise when under power, and at higher driveshaft speeds (= higher vehicle speed).
This is usually a bearing issue. Not cheap or easy to fix.
Check the torque on the driveshaft pinion nut though. That is easy to check...
