Help Header Install...
I've already read the how to posted in the faqs section, but I just wanted a couple questions answered.
I noticed on one how to(mugen header), he basically took the old header out and swapped the mugen in place.
On the other how to(toda header by xviper), he also replaced the gasket, and the "donut" gasket.
I know I have to torque the bolts from header to cat to 16ft/lbs, and the header to engine to 23-24ft/ lbs. My question is that is it really necessary to replace the "donut" gasket?? As one how to says do, and the other says don't.
Also can the stock gasket be reused or would it be better to get a new one?
Thankx in advance.

You SHOULD replace your gasket whenever it becomes used and compressed. That being said I've heard people go both ways and right now I am running on my old donut gasket, but I think I have a leak.
I think it's up to you and with the donut it's so easy to take off and reinstall you can always put the old one on and if you find problems just put the new one on.

My friend was in a hurry to swap out his headers (going back to stock) and he didnt replace it. It has a huge exhaust leak and is starting to rattle the bolts loose. Sounds crazy like a truck but the rattle isnt cool. Probably a loss of power also. I say replace it !

I would say, reuse them and if you find that it leaks, then replace them. It is easy to replace them if needed.
Like cdelena said, I too have reused them. I have also replaced them. You should know that Honda does not stock these parts and you will have to order them and wait.

Yes it is a simple knock out the old one, might need to use a screwdriver and hammer depending on how stuck it is, and then just slap on the new one. Piece of cake

thankx for the info guys. The parts are actually pretty cheap from the dealer. I think I'll try and reuse the old parts first, then if there are leaks i'll go ahead and order new one's. This will be the first header change so I don't think there will be a need to change them.
