Help with cusco lower brace install
I just got the cusco front lower brace and need some info before i attempt to install this thing. anyone got the torque specs for the bolts? I noticed the bar came with one bolt and a couple of washers. I'm assuming these things are for the front mounting point? Also, which washer goes where? I appreciate any help from those who have this installed.

I have no idea what bolts that thing mounts to so it makes it a little hard to give you the torque specs
The engine subframe bolts, which I believe are used by some x-braces, have different specs for the long and short ones. The long subframe blots are 85 lb/ft and the short ones are 43 lb/ft. If these aren't the bolts your brace uses then speak up and give us some details.
Also, didn't that thing come with instructions? Or are they in Japanese

i intalled mine on friday and it's quite simple took me less then 5 minutes.. i don't remember the torque specs, but shinjji would know it... he sells them on the GB... the one bolt goes on the one in the front... it's just a longer bolt to replace the stock one.. and washer goes between the bolt and the u-brace... the other 4 bolts just remove them from the subframe on the underside and reuse them once the brace is in place... you can't mess up on how the brace goes on cause of the bolt patters are different on each side...

what did you do with the other washer? i noticed there are 2 washers that come with the bolt. one is your normal flat washer, but the other has a cut in it.

umm ok that's kinda weird. u would think they would be pretty consistent with things like that. maybe a mystery washer kinda slipped in there? or maybe i have a choice of which washer to use?

No problems at all
There are two washers with the bolt supplied - the spring washer (with the cut) should be put on the bolt first then followed by the flat normal washer, therefore, the normal washer is against the car body and the spring washer closest to the head of the bolt.
Torque settings:
middle bolt (supplied by Cusco) 22 N.m (2.2 kgf.m, l6 lbf.ft)
Side bolts (x4) 38 N.m (3.9 kgf.m, 28 lbf.ft)
Make sure you jack the car up and hand tighten all the bolts, then on a level surface torque the bolts up - you can reach the side bolts easily but the front middle one can be torqued whilst the car is on the jack.
Hope this helps!
