Default Help cleaning engine block head!

Hello Guys, I am new to the forums and have a question.

I have my cylinder head off to get some work done on it. I noticed that the top of the pistons have some black sooth kinda stuff sticking on it? Should I clean this before I put the head back on? If so then how should I do this...a brush and a vacuum? There are bunch of holes next to the cylinders and I dont want any crap going in it.

Thanks, I appreciate any help.

if its off the car, shops can blast it with walnut shells i believe....vinigar also may help but make sure you neutralize the head when done with the vinigar with baking soda and water.

i think youre not supposed to clean the pistons because it gives you higher compression with that shit still on them lol??

stop putting stupid ideas in peoples head. not calling anyone stupid, just saying that many people are gullable and will start to think about putting crap in their chambers to raise compression.
