Default Help: Car won't start

So yesterday hop in the car and was in a rush. Turn key while putting in clutch and press start button.... then I hear trukkk - not very loud then there is no power at all. Sort of sounded like fuse went out. Tried to start but no electrical power.

I'm in hurry so go back upstairs to get keys for other car, realize I have to lock s2k, then key fob worked, electrics are back, car starts and runs no problem all day.

This morning get in, do the same thing and TRUKK sound again. I dont want to wait 5-10 mins so I just take the other car.

The car is an 02, no mods except audio, 46k miles and been babied and never had any hints of a hickup.

I'm dumb founded and don't know what's wrong?

Sounds like you battery level is low. Check and clean your battery terminals. Charge you battery. You might also want to check you alternator to see if it is charging ok.

Jumpstart it, drive it for a while, if it dies shortly after driving then its your alternator. If not then its your battery. I think autozone or discount auto parts tests alternators and batterys for free nowadays.

It started 3 times tonight, I'm a bit scared to drive it anywhere far. I'll go to autozone and see what they say and report back.

It sounds like the battery. MY 02 is it the original battery? The battery gets weaker over time. when it sits over night it doesn't have enough power to start the car. Once you do get it started the alternator will charge the battery and you can start it the rest of the day.

Take it AZ they should be able to check your whole system to see if its the battery or alternator.

good luck

Is it stock or already been replaced? I'm not the original owner.

Maybe fill liquid levels up? My just died a few months ago, but it is probably because I never drive the thing.
