help, car revvs but barely moves

Depending on how bad you cooked it, you might have just glazed it. Drive it "properly" for a few days. It may be OK.

when i drove it home the clutch barely caught and just revved up the engine whenever i tried giving a little gas

Let it cool. You are an impatient fellow, aren't you? After you fry a clutch like you did, as long as you are driving the car, it won't cool down very well. Park the thing and try it tomorrow. Don't beat on it for a while. Now that it's glazed, it'll be much easier to keep it glazed.

i only drove it home because if i didnt it would be off to the side of a main road lol...what do you mean by glazed?

Glazed is like being made very smooth and "shined up". The texture is polished away.

so i should be able to drive on it on sunday if i go easy on it, and itll engage normally? i plan on replacing it a little later so i have some breathing room to pay for it if its only glazed

Don't drive it too much. My son glazed his Celica clutch and kept driving for another couple of weeks. The overheating due to the slipping clutch cracked the flywheel, which made it a much more expensive repair.

Like trying to do a burnout accidentally? These guys are telling you it might recover. It's just as possible you overheated the flywheel and it won't recover EVER. I wouldn't assume it'll be back sunday. I'd assume I need a new clutch and resurfaced flywheel and HOPE it comes back Sunday.

how would it feel to drive on a glazed clutch? i only really need to drive to and from work, which is a mile away from my house
