Default help with broken differential!

This is the story.

Thursday 2. 30,000 mile service at Nearest Dealership Motors

Saturday 4. On the way to New Orleans for my first group meet I hear a horrible whining sound from the rear of my car. The further I go, the louder it gets.

I call Bought my Car from Honda and bring it in.

Monday 6. I am told via phone that they took the plate off and the fluid is burnt and thin and there are metal chunks everywhere.

Tuesday 7. We are waiting fir the rep to give the go ahead for warranty repair.

I learn that the tech at the dealer called Honda Techline and they informed someone about a previous repair that may suggest abuse.

Thursday 9. I am denied Warranty.

Friday 10. We start the appeal to Cust. Relations.

I get back from vacation and discover I was charged for VTM-4 which I hear is not the right stuff for the Diff.

Also the Tranny has motor oil in it, but that's another story

Can anyone tell me that I need to bring all of this up to Nearest Dealership Motors? Will they make it better? Should I avoid them for now?

Thanks for your help.

I would jump all over the VTM-4 issue. Isn't that for the AWD CR-V's?

Dealer F*** up your car. I suggest you go after the dealer that did the service. As usual AHM will blame you for the damage... Hate to say it but, likely you need a lawyer to take care of this.

It is ok to use motor oil in the tranny for a short time, just to let you know.

The rest sounds like BS (From Honda)

This thread is interesting as I just changed my tranny fluid a month ago with the VTM-4. I called two different dealers and they both confirmed that they use the VTM-4 for the S2000, also for the CR-V. I wouldn't believe that so many dealers could be erroneous about this issue since they perform this service all the time (I made sure the guy double checked). Please keep us posted on what caused the problem.

The VTM-4 fluid is for the Pilot and the MDX, right?
