Default Help!

I was at the gas station today filling up and when I was done my car had trouble starting up. This happened last time I filled up as well . I only use Chevron Premium gas. CEL lite up and trouble code 1457 showed up. All I have is a cold air intake and header. Last time I just figured it was because I did not tighten the gas cap properly..... and I had the shop reset it but it came on again today right after my car woud not start. Please help!

Thanks,

Louie O aka LuDawg

P1456 is a tank leak, usually gas cap.

P1457 leak on the canister side of the tank system. NOT gas cap.

The P1457 is DEFINITEY NOT causing your issues. That code cannot set that fast, it was already there when you filled up.

Any chance of posting a pic of the canisterside of the tank?

Did a search and seems like this happens quite often. Lots of info as far as what to check but I need a "How to check the EVAP for stupid people" LOL. Any help would be great.

"How to check the evap system for stupid people": take it to someone who knows what they're doing.

bbs2k_21-

I ended up taking it in the the local Honda Dealership and they found that that my EVAP sensor needed to be replaced. Once they replaced that my car worked like new. I would take it in to get checked out. Oh, it cost me around $300 to fix

Good luck,

LuDawg

Or get a repair manual. Hunt for a pdf repair manual online. I didn't say illegally, right?
