Help: 1st Throttle Body Engine Code, now Air Pump
Just had to have the Throttle Body/Throttle Position Sensor replaced because engine light came on and car was starting to stall and/or buck as described elsewhere in forum.
After replacement, on cold start the engine light came on b4 leaving dealer lot.
Code thrown said Air Pump Failure ( I think it was code 0410 )
Tech checked for any misconnects and found nothing, then reset light.
The light came on again next cold start.
Anybody have any experience or suggestions with this?
Could I really need a new airpump also?
Car seems to be running fine, except still dips below idle sometimes, then recovers. I was hoping the new TPS would have solved this

Recheck the vaccum line routing, I'll bet there is something screwed up form the throttle body replacement.

Have the tech make sure the ECM is clear by clearing all codes on the PGM and then pulling the No. 25 Back-Up fuse from the interior fuse /relay block for 10 seconds. Then do the troubleshooting for the Pulsed Secondary Air Control System... if the P0410 code persists. My guess is it won't. If it does persist, the vent going to the PSAP is the first hose off the intake. Start at the filter box and work towards the Throttle Body. The first hose is the one that is leaking....disturbed while doing work on the TB.

Update:
Checked the hoses shown in photos, all looks great.
Car sat ~ 24 hrs
Had to start for ~ 15 secs to back out into drive, then shutoff, removed fuse 30 secs, re-installed, started.
NO Light.
Not sure if starting for 15 secs blew the test, so will check again tommorrow.

Usually it takes longer than 15 seconds for the Air injection monitor to run. I'd let it run untill you don't hear the air pump running. Even then it will take 2 key on key off engine warm up cycles for the DTC to set.

Just to clarify.....
It will actually take 3
A type "B" OBD-II fault does not set a code. A two trip fault is known as "pending" or "maturing". If the fault is seen on the THIRD cyle it will set a hard code indicated as a MIL light.

Conditions for illuminating the MIL
When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Temporary DTC is stored in the ECM memory. If the malfunction
recurs during the next (second) drive cycle, the MIL comes on and the DTC and the freeze frame data are stored.
Sure does sound like the 2nd trip to me.
As far as the time issue, it takes 5 seconds or more have elapsed after the judgement of P0410 and P1410 before running the P0411 monitor. The only way to be sure the monitor ran is to watch the readiness codes with a scan tool. Chances are most DIY don't have this equipment. Running the engine longer to give the monitors time to run is a good idea.

Ok, The CEL came on somewhere during my 30mi commute this morning.
I believe this was the 2nd run of the engine since I removed the fuse last night.
Do I need to have my tech verify the same code was thrown?
What if it is 0410?
His computer read "Air Pump Failure" previously. Do these things really go bad? How much are they to replace?
