Hi all S2000 owners,
I have a 2004 s2000 with 100k km
Sometimes, when stop at the traffic light(when not giving gas) the car shuts off by itself,
but i can restart the car without any problem. When i restart the car, the car's rpm keeps going lower than 500rpm, so I'll have to press on gas to keep the engien going.
I always solve the problem by steping hard on gas. After i run for 30 sec, the car will be come stayalbe. Can anyone help me with this problem? Is it that about my spark plugs?
PS:sometimes when i warm up the car in the morning, it will also have this problem.

Wrong section this should be in under the hood, but maybe you should clean your IAC valve? Ive also had this problem but not on a cold start.

It's finally just warm enough to drive the S were I live, so I just took it out for a spin. To my disappointment, my car is doing the exact same thing. My car also has about the same mileage as yours. This happened to me a few years ago with my previous S2000 as it approached 100k miles, and it was a dirty IAC valve as mentioned by S2krazyyy. The Honda dealership I took it to charged me about $250, if I remember correctly. This time I'm going to try to clean it myself. I'm hoping that's all it is, it's an easy fix. Good luck.
