Default Heelllppp!

So on my way to work about two days ago I was driving on the interstate. I was going pretty good taking the car close to redline but shifting normal not fast so I know I didn't mis shift but my CEL did flash. Let me remind you i've have my 02 for over six years now has about 146k on it. Pulling into work i noticed a knocking noise. I had the code pulled and it was random mis fire but I still have the knock. It gets quiet in higher rpms and gearing down. I drove it to Honda to have them diagnose the problem. They said it sounds like its coming from the bottom end and could be a bent rod. It sounds to me like it could be coming from the top. I don't know what to do or where to start. Any suggestions would be helpful.

That does not sound good. Check your oil level, maybe it was low

Any mods? Check oil levels as suggested. I dont see how you could bend a rod under normal circumstances. Must figure out why something would happen before fixing the issue

Bent rod is unlikely, but if you are low on oil rod knock isn't unlikely. If it is rod knock, you must either rebuild the bottom or get another short block.

Oil level was about 3 quarters on the dip stick. Mods i/h/e. the car was fully warm I was on the interstate taking it close to redline but not speed shifting at all. I don't see how its a bent rod either. Going to pull the valve cover and check the top to see if theres anything noticeable there; retainers etc. Hopefully something there as I said this is/was my daily driver.

If the sound doesn't increase in frequency with RPM it isn't rod knock. When you pull your valve cover check your all you valve lash. It is possible for a jam nut to back off. You may as well look at your retainers/keeper too since you're there. Make sure none of keepers look "recessed" into the retainer.

Ok so valve cover off keepers rollers retainers look fine. We did pull the spark plugs and found 4 different conditions. The worse being number 1 broken electrode (end of plug). I have no idea if thats the problem or if its still in there. As of now i'm at a loss.

I'll make sure you get taken care of Kenny. I have a feeling that piece is still in there tearing up the cylinder, but we'll see I suppose.
