That is not true. The AEM EMS just doesn't have the need for a aftermarket thermostat. It can still work with it, just that the temperature reading it gives off will be different. If you have the water temp fan switch points set as OEM, then it will come on at the same time as it would have with a factory ECU. You can even lower it to make the fans come on even sooner than the aftermarket fan switch. You just need to keep in mind the correction amount for the AEM EMS when making the changes since the reading off the aftermarket thermostat will be off.

the tuner of my car, told me that, aftermarket cooling mods gives problems to AEM EMS users.
When we tried to turn on fans sooner than the OEM fan switch we heard a tic tic tic tic on the fuse box, we put it back to OEM settings and the noise gone

Well, it looks like we've solved the heating up problem. It seems the J's Racing kit is not made for a FI application. The whole front bumper is sealed off to allow the air to flow thru the intake inlet. And although the intercooler fits perfect, its restricting the airflow to the radiator and oil cooler.(pic a) Our only option was to cut the inside top piece of the bumper to allow more air to flow thru.(pic b) That did the trick.... The water and oil temps are back to pre J's bumper #'s. Heeeeeew! lol
