Default Heat Shield

I just ordered a Berk Header with Hipercoat. My questions is: Is there a need for a heat shield or will the ceramic coating be enough heat protection? I have been told it is enough and I have been told it is not. I am not tracking the car anymore, just driving it somewhat hard on the back country roads of North Carolina.

I fabricated my own for my Jet-Hot coated Toda. It isn't pretty, but it definitely works. Given that heatsoak is already a problem for the car, I figured I should do what I can to reduce it.

ceramic header should be cooler than stock. just to be sure, i would use header heat tape around it.

Phone cam pic...sorry. 2 layers of aluminum sandwiching a layer of header wrap as insulation and riveted together. I warned you it wasn't pretty.

From personal experience, I don't like header wrap ON the header. I have had cracking issues before from the stuff not allowing the metal to cool evenly, especially when wet. YMMV.
