Hear this sound when braking

A few things i would check out...
did someone or yourself recently work on the car? most notibly the wheel/brake area?
have you made sure your inner fender liners arent coming out? could be gravity pulling it towards the tire when hitting brakes....
could be a dust shield on the inside of the rotor possbily bent in... this is far fetched but possible..
could be a rock/object stuck between the pads/rotor... when applied makes the sound come back..
could be REALLY low on pads.. they have something called a squeeler (sp?) which SHOULD only make noise when backing up but can sometimes make noise forwards.
there is some other far fetched possiblities...but you can start with those.
