Hear this sound when braking

A few things i would check out...

did someone or yourself recently work on the car? most notibly the wheel/brake area?

have you made sure your inner fender liners arent coming out? could be gravity pulling it towards the tire when hitting brakes....

could be a dust shield on the inside of the rotor possbily bent in... this is far fetched but possible..

could be a rock/object stuck between the pads/rotor... when applied makes the sound come back..

could be REALLY low on pads.. they have something called a squeeler (sp?) which SHOULD only make noise when backing up but can sometimes make noise forwards.

there is some other far fetched possiblities...but you can start with those.

good catch...i actually first noticed my problem when braking, but mainly because slowing down allowed me to hear it over the engine. if there's a sound only when braking...then i'd guess the same as the others...rotors/pads or something.

only a sound or can you feel it through the brakes as well?
